Needs a professional setup. Once done is playable and fun. Headphones were awful. Didn’t cost much to replace with a decent pair. The screen is also very small and for those with glasses it is hard to read.

I'm really impressed with this, not as a travel guitar, but as a guitar, period (although it is exceptional for travel, obviously). Absolutely nothing on this instrument looks or feels cheap. Having seen it in person I feel like the price was definitely a bargain. Compared to other guitars it is very light, but it feels substantial despite it's diminutive size, and has a satisfying heft. The matte silver hardware looks great and the white body has a subtle sparkle to it in direct light. The pickup covers and switches give it a very modern look. It plays very well out of the box. I did reduce the neck relief for my personal preferences, but it was already intonated and the nut isn't an issue since it has a zero fret. The stainless frets have ball ends with no sharpness. There were a few spots that could have been polished more, but it's not a big deal. I do wish they had given it 24 frets instead of 22 since it's a very modern instrument, but again, that's a minor issue. The included accessories were also nice: a very well-made strap with a locking adjustment, headphones, cables, etc. The two Allen wrenches for the nut and bridge are held in a small compartment on the back of the instrument, a nice touch. The only thing lacking is the documentation. It explains the very basics, but you're left to figure out the operation mostly by trial and error.

Let's start with the fact that this is a travel guitar, back up guitar and jam session guitar; and not a pro-level instrument in terms of tone, craftsmanship and playability. It is nicely set up and feels good; but it still feels like a budget guitar. That aside, it is a remarkable product. I had originally considered the non-pro version of this instrument at half the price and browsed just long enough to stumble onto this 2025 version of the Hush X Pro guitar. While Donner makes decent quality music gear for the hobbyist or semi-pro musician, I don't know of another guitar with this feature set.
To begin, it is certainly compact, with aluminum arms that attach to the top and bottom edge via an ingenious locking cam mechanism. The attachment points are spring-loaded making asssembly and disassembly quick and secure. And the arms really do make it more natural to hold. The pickups are decent - nothing spectacular; but I do like that they moved the middle pickup toward the neck for more tonal variation. The truss rod is also easier to manipulate with the included adjustment rod that slips into spoke-holes in the end, saving the trouble of angling an allen wrench into the end. The guitar can function as a normal electric without powering up the FX circuit at all; with a standard 3-way pickup selector switch, coencentric volume and tone knobs. There is a standard output jack, 1/8" headphone jack and USB-C charging and data port. On the upper bout, there is a small display screen, parameter knob and data entry knob; as well as pushbutton switches for the onboard tuner/tap-tempo (for delay) and to activate the Bluetooth receiver (for streaming in backing tracks etc., which get mixed with the guitar at the headphone jack).
I won't go into all of the details, but this guitar not only offers a tuner, but a multi effects circuit that also includes amp modeling, electric and acoustic guitar modeling; all of which can be customized and saved to any of the 6 banks of 3 presets (18 in all) accessible via the preset knob on the face of the guitar. The effects can do a lot to enhance the tone of the instrument to your liking. Presets can be backed up via the desktop software, which also allows you to load a bunch of custom (cab) IR's.
The included nice case stores everything and includes a cable, USB-C cable, decent IEM headphones, a strap. picks, extra allen screws for the headstock and all needed tools. A couple of points to note: (1) I suggest retaining the foam that protects the preset knob; as when the case is closed, it can accidentally push down on the knob, powering up the FX circuit and draining the rechargeable battery and (2) the display parameters on the screen are very tiny; so you may need reading glasses or a magnifier to read the parameters.
That said, Donner has really nailed the portability factor for informal performances and practice, eliminating the need to bring effects pedals, a tuner, and dealing with a backing track playback setup. While not the cheapest travel guitar, this definitely is a better "mousetrap" than anything I've seen.

I absolutely love this guitar!
It's got all the bells and whistles you could want! Great sound, compact. All around great instrument.

Just when I thought Donner couldn't do any better, they release this beast. It is near perfection. I liked the original hush guitar for what it was. Light, convenient, portable, flexible, but it lacked aggression. It was meant for cleaner play. That's the problem, I'm a metal guy. Then walks in the X Pro. It's everything I loved about the Hush, but with everything else I wanted out of it. I can literally plug in my headphones, and jam ANYWHERE. And it's even got some great saved tones modeled after famous bands/albums that you'll recognize by the names given to them. Oh, and it looks cool, which helps. It's like a Strandberg but at a fraction of the cost and has everything you need built into it. I mean seriously there's very little you could do to improve this guitar. It's a work of art.

The Donner Hush X Pro is a marvelous and lovely instrument and my new, FAVORITE guitar. Thank you.

For me, it’s a great guitar. I can sit on my sofa with my dog lying on my lap and strum away to my heart’s content. This guitar is easy to play and sounds great. I love it.

Easy to set up. Good action. Effects are useful.

The best travel guitar I have tried, needed some setup and new strings, the screen can be a little difficult to see in various light settings. It comes with everthing you need and is comfortable to play. The truss rod was very stiff to adjust and the tip of the supplied tool snapped at the end, however soon solved using my own tool. Once you get used to to various settings you can create some really good sounds especially with your own tracks via Bluetooth. The case is well designed and practical for holding everything in place. To me it is an ideal travel guitar and serves that purpose well, would I play it live…probably no but I do own high level guitars for that purpose so comparison in unfare. I just hope its long term reliability is good as I am hoping its solved my travel with guitar problems. I am 70 yrs of age with 50 years or so playing guitar, I think we should embrace this new technology and use alongside the traditional instruments, who knows what they will come up with next ! A great travel guitar and hopefully reliable aswell.

Great little travel guitar, very versatile and playable.

Plays fine, but the volume is fairly low through my KRK headphones, even at full volume. The Tuner, which is advertised, was not in the pack. There is a built-in tuner, so this isn't the end of the world, but if it is supposed to be included, then it should be there. On the positive side, I am suffering from a trapped nerve in my neck, so the lightweight is a massive positive.

Lovely bit of kit - so freeing to have such a portable guitar. I'm struggling to get it to stop sounding like a `Metal Zone` pedal, but I'm sure I'll get there once I've played around with the settings more.

Perfect choice for outdoor gigs and gatherings. like it

The sound projection is amazing—rich, clear, and detailed.

This guitar is great fun to play and ideal for late night practice using the headphones. I am still exploring the effects which make my musical journey far more interesting.

Well made and super transportable

Great guitar and effects, can’t put it down!

Guitar looks great. Clean and dry straight to amp high E string output volume very quiet. Customer care supplied some settings made no differance. No height adjustment on pick ups. Saddles fully lowered string height measured at bridge and neck still to high for my preferance. Built in presets could do tweeking as fade out to quickly and sound just becomes choppy no indepth instructions supplied. Volume seems to be all or nothing from around half way. The guitar still plays good but you cant jump from mid / bass riff to high tone solo due to output volume issue. I am comparing this with my other guitar output volumes across all strings and pickup configuration. I would give the guitar 7 out of 10.

Great guitar for anywhere and everywhere practice. A bluetooth added to it would make it perfect

I have the hush i pro and was very pleased to add the hush x pro to my collection. Both guitars are fantastic and so versatile for different styles of music.

Guitar is brilliant, but had a problem with software on pc. Contacted customer service and they said it could take up to 72hrs to get this looked at by their tech department. 2 weeks later still no contact despite me emailing them again

This is an excellent innovative product- it s light weight and portable qualities make it good for practising /planning music arrangements etc anywhere . However it’s much more than a travel and practice guitar. I gig in pubs and clubs with it ,plugging directly in to the mixer without the addition of numerous pedals - it sounds good and , having carried out the usual but minimal set-up chores, it also plays well , ,with a varied mix of effects easily available and the feel of a guitar that you expect to cost more.

Great guitar, much better than I anticipated.
All of the features are superb, and the little extras you get especially the built in allen key compartment, Brilliant. I managed to purchase this with a very good deal which was a massive bonus as far as value for money is concerned.

I am bed bound due to illness and I can shred all day and night! Thanks

Fantastic instrument that ticks every box from portability and flexibility to customisation and appealing looks.

The Hush-X Pro arrived in perfect condition, no burrs on any frets or rough spots on the body, no blemishes on the finish. It's a quality build, like my other HUSH-I Pro and HUSH-X guitars.
I could suggest a couple of improvements to the manual, but no serious issues.
The tone and amp sims are really good, and the IR loading allows some good customisation. Using the heavier acoustic tone sims can sound a bit janky with the 9-42 strings, but that's understandable, the string attack can't be expected to sound like 11s. I wish the noise reduction was a little more adjustable, like on the Arena 2000, it's too frequency specific and stuttery.
The mod effects aren't fantastic, but they're OK.
The point of the guitar is having it all in one package and that's something no other guitar manufacturer does. It's something I can grab and play, practice quietly and have it sound like I want. And I can still use only a tone sim, or even set it to bypass and run it through my Arena 2000 to get a more precise sound with better effects. At the end of the day, I bought a solid quality guitar with good pickups that sounds good, just with some nice features added.
I'm really happy with the direction that Donner has taken with the HUSH line.

The Hush X Pro is brilliant, I love it, just what I wanted. Feels great, sounds great through headphones and an amp. Awesome.

Excellent and a perfect size for travelling

Great little guitar!

I was disappointed that the site indicated there was stock and was able to get it before my travels but it came 2 days too late. The guitar is amazing though. The instructions are not very clear on how you store the presets. It would be good to have some demos on your site to go through this and not rely on YouTube reviewers.
