I got it for my grandson and he loves it
Darren E.
Item arrived quickly. As it is a birthday present I haven't used it yet. Looks good.
Barry M.
Looks, feels and plays fantastic, has everything you need to start playing all in the travel bag, can't wait to take it with me next time I work away from home!
Lance C.
The perfect travel guitar.
John W.
Far beyond ny expectations for the price.
Harry W.
I’m moving around a lot, so having something this small and practical is a must. Plus, I can practice without annoying the neighbours!
Steve b.
Looks and feels amazing. Definitely my go to for noodles
Gary B.
Seems like a very nice guitar for the money so far
Paul M.
OM*G... This is amazing.. How the hell did you guys cram all that into such a small package. It plays great, and paired with the Pocket Go pedal and a little Vox amp I've got - provides the perfect man-cave/should-be-working-in-my-home-office-but-its-Friday experience. 10/10 and I expect I'll accidentally buy another of these for the Grandson some time soon ;-)

The Donner Hush guitar is a quality instrument. It tunes very accurately and keeps the tuning well even when using a capo. The included electronic tuner is a nice feature.
When connected to a portable speaker via the 3.5mm jack plug you get a very warm and pleasant accoustic guitar sound.
The guitar is amazingly compact and the carry case protects it well for transporting. The shoulder strap can be used for both the guitar and the case.
I'm very pleased with my purchase.
John B.
Great for quiet practice. Easy to tune. Tone through headphones is good. Very light and quick to pack away in its travel case. Takes up no room at all. Love it!
John W.
I was looking for a small guitar for my 28ft yacht. I already had a small 9vt battery amp. Both take up little room.
I was expecting to have to do some fret work, lower the action , by grinding down the bridge and doing a set up. But, after tuning, it played very well was out of the box, neck relief was minimal but the action was very playable with no buzz. The fretwork was exceptional for a guitar in this price range.
I am looking forward to playing at anchor this summer and especially like the headphone feature which means I can practice without disturbing the tranquillity of my neighbours anchored nearby.
This guitar certainly lived up to my expectations.Does everything I wanted it to.. Strings were a little heavy for me but Ernie B's 47 to 9s have sorted that.
This is my 2nd purchase from Donner. Previously I purchased a DST 600 SSS in fiesta red, which has far far exceeded all expectations, even after reading all the rave reviews it received. Why on earth Donner have discontinued this model I will never know. Several people after playing my guitar have been looking for one on the second hand market. I sold my Fender Highway Strat for a very good price as I no longer needed it after buying this
I no longer own any name guitars. Besides the 2 Donners I have Squier tele Custom vibe and a couple of Harley Bentons . An excellent Les Paul copy and a jazz guitar. For me this is an excellent collection.
John W.
I received my Hush 1 a couple of weeks ago. First impressions are that it looks great and will be ideal for a travel guitar and playing whilst I am away in my Motorhome.
However I am still not happy with the sound. I have tried to adjust the action but this is not helping at the moment.
So I have booked it in for a set up with a local guitar tuner.
It’s a shame it does not play perfect out of the box.
Hopefully it will be a great companion once it is tune correctly.
Adrian D.
Really great for me to play at any hour and not disturb anyone
I only need to connect it to a Mac for the full effects
Rennie R.
I am fortunate to have collected a few guitars over the years, but this one fills a gap, allowing me to play without disturbing the family, yet hear a proper tone through the headset as if it were through an amp. It also gives a reasonable tone through an amplifier, meaning the guitar can be used for more than just "silent practice."
Nice neck, but quite a high action, like my acoustic guitars. I could fiddle with the truss rod, but initially, I am happy enough as it came out of the box.
The machine screws that hold in the "body" frames are of an interesting quality and could do with replacement, but having magnetic-tipped machine screws does help fitting, albeit the provided allan key and the screws are not a perfect fit.
The case is substantial and of good quality for a gig bag, offering significant protection for the guitar being carried around. The bag strap doubles as a guitar strap, and the included tuner works well as a bonus. The included earphones are fine, but I prefer to use them along with my own over-ear headphones, as they are more comfortable than buds.
All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase and would describe it as good value for money.
Simon K.
Guitar was delivered within two days.
It's very nice to use with good action on the fretboard.
Bought this as my acoustic guitar was taking up far too much room when travelling. The Donner acoustic addresses that problem so well. Easy to add or remove the rests, and unbelievably compact when stored in the case.
Recommended.
Paul B.
Really nice guitar and looking forward to travelling with it
Anita N.
speedy delivery and great instrument. play it almost every day. handy with the headphones.
neil b.
The Hush series are superb for the price and the cases are top notch.
Craig B.
Love the guitar. Sounds great and looks good. Not 100% whether the Allen key will get through airport security in the UK but I’ll find out soon.
C C.
I've only since found about the 'X' upper and lower frame upgrade that gets rid of the fiddly allen screws. If there was a kit. I'd buy one.
Rebecca H.
One very happy husband with his new guitar!
Gregory R.
Great travel instrument which is versatile
Peter G.
I cant believe how much i like this 'travel' guitar. Got it mainly to be able to play quietly with headphones in.
The donner-i is a great alternative to an acoustic
The case is lovely and small much more tempting to carry around. Personally dont like carrying around an acoustic in a case.
Nice and simple to build. Didnt expect a battery and headphones to come with it, a nice surprise.
Far better than a rubber chicken
Michael L.
Superb. Good value for money. Plays well, sounds great and most importantly, compact and easy for travel.
Alan W.
Neck seems to be top heavy, little awkward to keep in good position.
Great getting a tuner with the guitar but attaching it at the end of the neck is not easy/good
Allen key is not a good fit for the Allen key bolts for fixing the false metal bars. Ended up buying some of my own to replace.
The bridge gives a very high action of strings to fret bars. Had to sand down to a more acceptable, reduced, height. This really does need addressing before sending out.
Otherwise a good practice guitar
Adam D.
I think the guitar is great. Soon after receiving it I put it in my rucksack and headed off to Morocco where I can happily sit and practice before putting it back in the rock sack and moving on. The sound is great, the build quality is excellent, and the design is Really cool. Fully recommend it.
Sarah J.
I love it. So happy I bought it.
Kevin K.
Set up nice out of the box and plays and sounds great.
David A.
Absolutely Delighted with New Donner Hush-1Travel As a learner I am finding it easier to play and the benefit of whisper mode saves annoying anyone. Well until I am able to achieve a good standard Sincere Thanks David
Tina Y.
Easy to navigate and order item. Friendly customer service. My husband is really pleased with the instrument and has taken it away with him on his travels so it’s getting good use already!
Darren R.
Comfortable to use and does everything I hoped it would.
Bridget S.
Perfect for taking on holiday
Pavle O.
Best instrument I ever bought, elegant small in size, big sound and direct headphones jack is priceless!
Natalie R.
We purchased this for my son’s 11th birthday after he saw one of his favourite artists playing one. He absolutely loves it and can’t wait to start his secondary school music lessons so he can learn to play more songs. Great product!
Simon L.
I can’t resist gizmos, and I took a punt on one of these guitars and am very happy with it. Great for practice and travel!
N W.
really useful as a travel guitar, I use it with a positive Grid Spark Go amp.
John A.
It is great for playing practise in Hotels I am just getting used to it at the moment but find the action a little high.
The only down side is remembering to remove the battery.
Ian J.
Fast delivery good product good price
Keith P.
My first headless. It feels wierd. I keep expecting my hand to drop off the end.
I will get used to it. Good feel, good sound or none as you wish.
Jonathan R.
This is a great guitar for the money - it's well made and well thought out. Even the gig bag that it comes with is high quality. It would be handy if it had an onboard tuner but other than that I don't think it could be much better. It is comfortable to hold, unlike some other travel guitars I have tried; quick to assemble and is very light. I love it.
Matthew F.
Good piece of kit
Christopher B.
I received my hush guitar within 3 days of purchase. It was playable from the box, but the action was high and some of the open chords were out of tune. I have some experience with guitar set-ups and was able to adjust the truss rod, and file the bridge saddle to a height that was more acceptable. It now playes great, and I'm more than happy with the quality and performance.
C C.
Generally well built and delivers what it promises. Controls are slightly fiddly (being under the metal frame).
The guitar element is nicely made although the action is high, the frame could be improved:
Maybe slightly larger in size - not full strat dimensions but definitely a little bigger than it is now.
The lower frame is definitely too small and could be wider at the point of contact on the players leg - currently it's inclined to slip around.
The dual strap idea is a gimmick.
Playability is OK once the action has been sorted.
I got offered a special deal and bought one for fun, would I pay full advertised price..? Unlikely.
Andrew F.
Simply brilliant.
Dave G.
Purchased because of good reviews. However disappointed with mine. Action to high and could do with better quality strings. The sound through the headphones was poor, despite being tuned. In an attempt to improve things and meet my expectations of this instrument I have sent to a luthier to hopefully correct things. This has cost me an extra £60!
John P.
Awkward to tune, action quite high, nowhere to clip the tuner, Alan keys don't really fit the bolts
I was also hoping it would have ¼" jack socket, but can't complain about that as it didn't promise to have one.
Ear plugs won't stay in my ears, but it could be my ears that are the problem!
Sound is okay and it's a nice compact size.
Barrie J.
I am a senior beginner who purchased the Hush I mainly for practice with headphones on whilst my wife was watching television and later at night after she had gone to bed. Being of small build and with small hands the instrument is fast becoming my favourite over my normal acoustic guitar. I did take it to have the action lowered and lighter phosphor bronze strings fitted to suit me.
Matthew S.
I bought a Hush-I silent guitar.
I really like it.
I like the design l, it is quiet enough to play with headphones without annoying the family and sounds nice in an amp.
The frets are smaller than an acoustic so some chords are easier to play, but It is taking some getting used to the strings being close together.
I am very happy with it and definitely recommend.
I should have bought one much sooner.
Paul D.
Excellent piece of kit. So convenient to just pick up and play!
Robert P.
Just what I needed while I’m away working
Christopher A.
I have many guitars. ...too many according to my wife.....but I saw this on YouTube and bought it on a whim.
I won't probably use it for the sixties revival band I play in but for all other acoustic type gigs it'll be great.
My other guitarist in the band pinched it off me so I've had to order a 2nd one !
Actually it gave me the chance to go for the pro model this time as this one has even more good things in it.
If I could get away with it I might get the X model as well
Paul L.
Amazing travel guitar, fits under my boot floor in my car so I can always practice on the road. It's perfect for what I need it for. Headphones or amp at home it has a remarkable sound for such a compact instrument.
stephen m.
Easy to put together and tune great sound
David P.
Not had much chance to play it yet but I like the feel of it and the build quality is good for the price. I mainly play acoustic guitar but need something to travel with, this is a neat package. Wish I had paid for a different delivery option though - less than impressed with Yodel.
JOHN H.
Very well made. Excellent travel guitar.
Bruce L.
Great tool for traveling.
ADRIAN S.
Excellent thanks, good product.
David A.
Very well made practice guitar and great value for money. Very good sound.
Ed H.
Perfect quiet travel guitar. Just hoping that it is an acceptable size in my carry-on case when I take it to Korea next month!
THAT will be when I can really sing it's praises (or not!)
Stephanie S.
Love it! Get to practice at odd hours without disturbing the family or neighbours. Sturdy, so I'm able to leave it out in easy reach in a house full of kids and dogs without fear of damage, which I cannot do with my expensive, wood acoustic instruments! Have practiced more in the past few weeks than I have in the past few years combined.
Stephen W.
ideal starter for my teenage son, thank you
Sean W.
Love the guitar, would prefer a hard case option for hand carry luggage
Alex B.
Great delivery and guitar good enough sound so I can play when I travel, very pleased
Harry B.
Great little travel guitar for the price no complaints and plays quite smoothly with quite a good acoustic sound, slightly tight action.
David B.
I’ve put it together and tuned it, plugged it through an amp and it sounds fantastic.
I do work at a HMP,and this will be less bulky to take in.
I think it’s great.
I also travel on holiday with Ryanair but I think it will be difficult to get on the plane because of bag sizing and I bong fancy purring the bag in the hold !
Max M.
seems well made and is ideal for silent practice - my neighbours love it : )
Joshua C.
Bought for my father, and he absolutely loves the versatility and lightness of his new guitar. I have no doubt he will also want the next one up
mark g.
Quick and reliable service . Great product, well made and packaged.
Micah h.
Really impressed with the Donner Hush. It does have a beautiful acoustic sound and is a joy to play.
Really well-engineered and exciting product, easy to record a good acoustic sound at home without having to worry about passing cars, barking dogs etc.
there is a lot in the package to love, headphones, cloth, ingenious guitar/bag strap. Excellent product- highly recommend.
Sally D.
Superb service and the product once it arrived was perfect! Purchased for my best friend for his 50th who wanted a guitar he could travel with and this absolutely delivers! Fantastic little case and a handsome little guitar!
Martin J.
Excellent guitar, lovely to play, easy to hold, nice sound. Perfect travel guitar and even for home.
Bruce L.
Gift for father in law's birthday - recipient delighted
Stephen C.
Excellent travel guitar, just what I was looking for at a decent price
Nicholas M.
With its good quality case it fitted diagonally in an extra large suitcase which avoided Ryanair’s charges for extra baggage. It has acoustic strings which is a bonus and the action is easy to use. Its tone sounds fine to me as an acoustic player of 35 months standing.
I wanted to be able to keep up my daily practice while abroad for 6 days and without disturbing other hotel guests. It fulfilled that purpose well. I have since purchased a link to enable it to connect to a standard guitar lead so I can use it with an amplifier. Its build quality does not disappoint.
Gary S.
Arrived quickly, great quality, good fun to play. I lowered the action and fitted Ernie ball 9's no drama. Can't believe how compact but usable it is. Playing through a positive grid Go makes it fun, as well as a 100W combo..!!!!
Purchased to take away on holiday when we take a winter break. Supplied with strap, bag, tuner, picks, headphones.
Super impressed and will consider other Donner products.
Martin F.
I’ve only had the opportunity to unpack and tune it so far. Quality looks good. Totally happy so far v
Andy W.
Excellent for holidays and travel. The action is too high and is going to need sorting when I get home.
Lee K.
Lovely, solid piece of kit. So easy to transport and it sounds great through my headphones. Really happy with my purchase!
Charles H.
It was delivered on time as promised and well packed, so there was no damage. Everything works great; the only problem (soluble) is that the action is about 1.5mm high for me. I like the input feature for backing tracks.
Warren H.
Guitar is exactly what I wanted, small & easy to handle in tight spaces. Packaged nicely. Will purchase some better headphones but overall happy customer.
Jim M.
So compact and quiet and I don't disturb my wife which is most important
Russell C.
Perfect size. Great quality
Iain D.
I lurked around this guitar for some time after seeing the far more expensive Yamaha version. I did a lot of research, as I’m not a “faddy” guitar player, however, you have to have some quirks in your guitar collection. Anyway, the reviews, both written and on YouTube, were more than favourable so I pulled the trigger. I have to say that the Hush 1 has absolutely fulfilled my expectations. It’s easy to assemble, has an easy tuning mechanism (although the purists may disagree), stays in tune and sounds absolutely like a pukka electro-acoustic guitar, which is what it is. I’m struggling to find any negatives if I’m honest, maybe not everyone would like its aesthetic, but don’t buy it if that’s a worry. I’d certainly recommend it.
Nuno P.
I’m quite surprised how good this guitar is. Ultra light, really easy to handle and play. The finish is amazing. Still trying it but so far all good.
Chris G.
My first impression was wow, this looks even better in the flesh. It feels solid, well built and sounds great. The carry case is strong and i feel that it’ll take good care of it as i travel around.
The action was too high on the nut and bridge, so a bit of setting up was initially required, and now it feels light and perfect for me.
It’s such a great instrument to sit and play around with, and the earphones create a new dimension. I’ve yet to try the input jack.
I have a couple of minor gripes, one is the need to have to screw in the frames. Although the too one pretty much holds itself in.
With the bottom one in, i struggle to get comfortable with it’s position on my knee as it puts the guitar too far back. For the meantime I’ve been playing it without the bottom frame. My plan is to drill a hole further back once it’s out of warranty.
Overall though, it’s a fabulous looking and sounding instrument and a great purchase which I’d recommend to anyone.
Ian V.
As an aging learner, the size, weight and portability of this guitar makes it ideal for lugging around to lessons.
I love the minimalist look and feel of the instrument.
Not wild about the tuning heads, as my Roadie tuner doesn't fit, so managed to snap the bottom E string when first tuning it up. Would have been good if it had a built in tuner, but the supplied tuner is a nice touch.
Teams up well with a Spark Go mini amp.
Not really a 'silent' guitar, well no more than a normal electric when unplugged.
Only seems to work with small in-ear headphones. Tried my larger over-the-ear type, but got not sound out.
Headphone socket is a little hard to get too with the metal game on, but sounds good through the supplied ear-buds.
Would have preferred the same kind of frame assembly as the HUSH-X, as not sure how much life is in the hex screw assembly on the HUSH-I.
All in all, I'm a fan, despite some very minor gripes.
Rob B.
Great, doesn’t take up too much space, comfortable to hold and sounds great.
Patrick F.
Delivered quickly and with no fuss.
Everything you need is in the box, and there is minimum set up.
And then it just works really well.
There are some clever design points - like the case step doubling up as a guitar strap.
Love it
Paul R.
Great guitar for practice without annoying the neighbours and you partner. Really like the neck and the action , feels like an Acoustic
Martin W.
Really quick service, love the guitar
Parmod K.
Very nice guitar
David H.
Just at the beginner level, bought this so I can take it away in our caravan, not ready to entertain the whole site. Takes a bit of use to get used to the size, but not long. Find it sounds good enough to practice without the headphones. With the headphones is really good especially playing along to something, being able to plug the phone into the guitar and merge both in headphones is really good. Size is brilliant for travelling, and yet everything is full size. For me, at my level, wanting a quiet travel guitar it is brilliant, very happy.
