Being branded as a "beginner" kit I expected it to be "kid" level quality. It's actually really nice and sounds awesome! The uke stays in tune pretty well and sounds great. I got it for a friend who would always play with our uke, and he loves it. This is a really nice starter kit and the uke actually sounds and feels great.

Fantastic Uke! Love the sound and it's perfect for kids. The reason I give it 4 stars is because of the strap, it doesn't fit right and it doesn't stay on the Uke. It needs pins for a shoulder strap instead. Otherwise it's a great little instrument.

I also purchased a beginner UKE DVD and book that explains the notes, where to place your fingers to create each note. that we will need to get started and play for a long time. There is also youtube that will show you. I’m learning to play as well and this fit is good for me too. Easy to carry around with you. Beginner Uke and not a toy. We are proud to begin on this UKE and we will be using this one for many years to come. It seems all the grandchildren love theirs and now want to get together with their cousins to practice. Great ukulele. Sounds great and keeps its tune well. My daughter was looking forward to using the strap as well, but there is absolutely no logical way to put it on the ukulele. As if it was not made for this instrument at all. Also weird that it comes with a pick. Not a selling point since ukuleles are not played with picks. For the price, still very happy with the instrument.

I just wanted a cheap traditional uke because it seemed like it was easy to learn how to play. I'm glad I bought this one. It comes with everything you need to get started and the construction seems sturdy. I don't know enough about it to give it a really strict rating but imo it's worth it. Make sure that you stretch the strings before playing! I read that tip and it does make a lot of difference. Tune it and then stretch, tune it then stretch, and repeat until even if you're stretching it it stays in tune. Do that for each string.

I’m a beginner myself but I think it sounds good, especially for the price I think it’s a really good investment. I’ve had it for a few months now and haven’t broken any strings yet so I’d take that as a good sign, although they do provide extra strings in case you do. At one point there began to be a high pitch ringing sound with one of the strings, however I believe that is common for any ukulele you buy. In conclusion it is great for beginners and and it’s a great value for the price.

I'm a music teacher, bought this to accompany myself and students singing when I was on a cart due to tornado damage at our school. Worked great, held tune well unless I was going back and forth from inside to outside, but that's to be expected with any instrument. Good quality, just need to get a case or strap If you're traveling. It came with a fabric string bag but that wasn't sufficient for my needs as I was having to put it in a cart and go back and forth between classrooms and it got a bit dinged up-but still Plays fine!

Im a ukulele teacher. This uke stays tuned, is well built, and has low enough action. Good strings. If kids don’t play with tuning pegs it should remain a good quality instrument.

Impressed with the overall quality. Wetter care should be taken in the clear coat and polishing of the gloss finish. Frets are dressed well. “AAA Canadian Maple”?? Looks more like basswood. No strap buttons, no tail block to mount your own. Good quality, but still lacking in some areas. Especially @￡50. I let a lot of this go considering I had a ￡20 off coupon. I would NOT pay regular price. Nice musical sound.
