I'm 73 and never played the piano before, although I do play fiddle. I was looking for a quality instrument that was more than a keyboard, but within a beginner budget. This one ticks all the boxes. It sounds great, has all kinds of effects and backups that make it fun, but can be used just as a piano for learning. I'm very pleased with it for the amazing price. It's going to take me a while but I'm going to enjoy the journey!

Lovely keyboard!

We received the keyboard in less than a week. It was purchased to support a teenager who loves art, but the product also inspires other family members to make the most of it. The sound is wonderful, exceeding my expectations.

This portable electronic piano is pretty cool. You can change it to different sounds, but it's also fun to play as a piano. My husband added the little key markers to help himself and anyone else who wants to learn to play. When one of the granddaughters came to visit last weekend, she had a blast "playing." It's not unlike a regular keyboard, but the wooden look and the keys make me feel like we have a piano in the living room. One day I'll learn to play more than the one little song I learned on the accordion when I was nine! And the price isn't bad, either.

Great Keyboard. Lots of functions. Looks more like a piano than a keyboard. I purchased the DEP-1S because I have a DDP-100 which is a fantastic Piano only and wanted to now try to get my head around something with backing tracks etc. but didn't want to spend the earth for it as it is only as a learning tool to start with. As I am used to the action of the DDP-100 keys, which I purchased some time ago, I have found the keys on the DEP-1S are much lighter and take a bit of getting used to, but the functions and choice of tones and rhythms excellent, plenty to play with and endeavour to coordinate. I am looking forward to being able to get the hang of it. First though I must get it connected to the rest of my rig. I am a late learner and it is only for personal pleasure and leisure. Being into sound engineering and setting up PA equipment in my younger days, purely as an amateur, I have always found Donner equipment excellent value and great quality. So as far as my DEP-1S is concerned I am pleased to add it to setup and looking forward to hours of pleasure from using it. Purchasing it from the website was easy, and delivery was very quick. The only thing thing I would have liked to have would be more comprehensive sound demos on the website. Also to mention that it took some working out that to play the demo songs it needed both the Record and Play buttons to be pressed simultaneously. One very happy customer.

Sound is good

Donner DEP-1S: A great digital piano at a good price. The piano keys and speakers are good. Only 3 criticisms: 1. The board that holds sheet music and/or iPad only sits in a groove. It has fallen off the piano too many times, taking the iPad down too. It would be safer if it is hinged or fixed to the piano. 2. The MIDI USB connection requires more than just a cable! It needs an adapter too, so that online piano lessons have accurate note recognition! 3. The User Manual could give more detail so we know which abbreviated onscreen message relates to which feature.

I am really pleased with the Donner keyboard package. The keyboard is high quality both in build and sound and the stand is simple to assemble and very strong. I would most definitely recommend the purchase of this keyboard package.

At the price, it’s pretty good.
